Meet the Founder
From Our Kitchen to Yours
Sweet Layers Bakery was born in 2018, when founder Elena Moretti turned her lifelong passion for baking into a small storefront in Toronto's west end. Armed with her grandmother's Italian recipes and a dream of creating cakes that were as beautiful as they were delicious, she opened the doors with just a mixer, an oven, and a whole lot of determination.
What started as a weekend operation quickly grew by word of mouth. Brides-to-be, birthday planners, and pastry lovers found their way to Sweet Layers, drawn by Elena's philosophy: every creation should taste as good as it looks.
Today, Sweet Layers has grown into a full team of talented bakers and decorators, but the heart of the bakery remains the same — handcrafted quality, real ingredients, and cakes made with genuine love. Elena still personally designs every custom wedding cake that leaves the shop.
